Connecting with Nature – NParks Public Engagement

Over the years, in order to conserve Singapore’s rich natural heritage, NParks has focused on ensuring the health of key species and ecosystems, restoring our natural areas and enhancing our nature reserves.

As part of its recent City in a Garden (CIAG) vision, NParks hopes to further enrich Singapore’s urban environment with native biodiversity via creation of suitable habitat and careful reintroduction of selected native species. We have successfully increased the numbers of some native species including dragonflies, butterflies and even hornbills, and believe that urban living can be enriched by having daily close encounters with nature.

So head over to the “Connecting with Nature” booth during the Festival and tell us what are some animals that you want to see more of in your neighbourhood, parks and gardens!
