Painting Nature – A Community Art project

Note: This is a Pre-Festival event.

What is it going to be?

We are aiming to construct a mosaic of the Festival of Biodiversity logo, with the participation of the community. Tham Pui San, a veteran artist who volunteers at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve and heads the Buloh Dabblers group, will be the main artist in this project.

Why community artwork?

This will give a chance for everyone to take part, and to allow the community to show their appreciation for Nature & biodiversity! It is a representation of the fact that everyone in the community has a part to play in ensuring conservation of biodiversity and that everyone should be able to enjoy Nature.

The completed mosaic will be on display during the 2-day Festival of Biodiversity on 26 & 27 May 2012 for all to admire 🙂

How can I participate?

We will be holding a 2-day workshop, on 12 May 2012 (Saturday) and 19 May 2012 (Saturday) from 9.00am to 12.00pm on both days. On 12 May, Pui San will be holding a classroom session on how to use acrylic paint, and what we will be doing for the mosaic. On 19 May, participants will get to get their hands dirty and contribute to the community artwork!

[Update: 10 May 2012] Registration for Painting Nature has closed. Thank you to all who have registered for your support and we look forward to meeting you during the workshop!
There is a limit of 60 participants for this workshop, so if you are interested, do fill in this form to register now! Please note that you will have to attend both days of the workshop. We highly recommend that only children 9 years old and above come for the workshop.
